Hope Town United, Inc. (“Hope Town United”,” “we,” “our,” “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our website visitors. We want you to understand how we collect and use information from our website so you can interact with us with confidence.  This Privacy Policy applies to the Hope Town United website (the “Site”) and any services offered by Hope Town United through the Site.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to any information collected outside of the website, including offline or through other means (for example, via telephone or through mail), unless otherwise stated below.

By using our Site, you accept and agree to the practices this Privacy Policy describes.

How We Collect Your Information

We may collect Personally Identifiable Information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to,

  • Information You Provide Us Directly: We may ask for certain information such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information when you visit our Site, create an account on the Site, subscribe to the newsletter, fill out a form, make a donation, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. How We Use Tracking Technologies

Our Site currently does not respond to “do not track” or similar signals.

How We Use Your Information

These procedures include, but are not limited to, firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection, and Site monitoring.  We also limit access to any Personally Identifiable Information we receive to members of Hope Town United or trusted third parties service providers who need access to that information in order to do their jobs. As a result, while we strive to protect your personally identifiable information, we cannot guarantee that it will be 100% secure.  Your transmission of your data to our Site thus is done entirely at your own risk.

How We May Share Your Information: 

We may share your Personally Identifiable Information with trusted third parties (including advertising networks) or our affiliates to:

  • Assist us in providing our services to you, including by acting on our behalf to send postal mail and email, remove repetitive information from mailing lists, analyze data, provide marketing assistance, process credit card payments, and provide website assistance;
  • Compile statistics and reports regarding our audience and the visitors of our Site and services; and
  • Deliver interest-based emails.

Such third parties have access to Personally Identifiable Information as needed to perform their functions, but they are not allowed to use it for other purposes.  We use contractual or other means to protect your Personally Identifiable Information disclosed to such third parties. Third Party Site and Social Media Features
Our Site may contain links to other sites, including those of third parties or business partners.  While we seek to link only to sites that share our high standards and respect for privacy, we cannot be responsible for the privacy practices other websites use.  By accessing other third party websites or applications through our Site, you are consenting to the terms and privacy policies of those websites. It is possible that other parties may collect Personally Identifiable Information about your online activities over time and across different web sites when you use our Site.

Donations

We are extremely grateful for any donations.  When you visit the “Donate” page on our Site, you will be taken to a website of a third-party service provider.  This service provider will collect your first and last name, zip code, postal address, email address, donation amount, billing information, and payment card information.  Please refer to the privacy policy of the service provider to learn more about the use of your personal information.

International Visitors and the Privacy Shield 

Our Site is hosted and operated in the United States (“US”).  By using the Site, you are consenting to the transfer of your personal information to the US.  If you are accessing our Site from outside the US, please be advised that US law may not offer the same privacy protections as the law of your jurisdiction.

We do not knowingly collect Personally Identifiable Information about individuals residing in the European Union.  If you believe we have collected or processed personal information about any individuals residing in the European Union, please contact us immediately at [EMAIL].

Visitors Only of Legal Age of Majority

Our Site is designed and intended for those who are at least 18 years old.  By using our Site, you affirm that you are at least 18 years of age or older.  We are not liable for any damages that may result from a visitor’s misrepresentation of age.  No one under age 13 is authorized to submit any information, including personally identifying information, on our Site. Under no circumstances may anyone under age 13 use our Site.  Parents or legal guardians of children under 13 cannot agree to these terms on their behalf.

This Privacy Policy was last updated on December 4th, 2019.

We update the Privacy Policy from time to time, so please review it regularly.  If we materially change our Privacy Policy, we will notify you by posting a notice on our Site. Your continued use of the Site will be deemed your agreement that your information may be used in accordance with the new policy.  If you do not agree with the changes, then you should stop using the Site and notify us that you do not want your information used in accordance with the changes.
